In Memory

“In Memory" is a reflective piece that explores recollection and its impact on our inspiration, emotions, and reasoning. This composition features repurposed hard disk drives (HDDs) as musical instruments, transforming their motors and needles to create tones and rhythmic sounds. The HDDs symbolize memory, embodying the essence of data storage and recall.
The second movement focuses on the past by capturing the present through a cyclical process of recording and playback. Cymbals act as a repository of HDD sounds. As the iterative recording and playback process progresses, the sonic landscape becomes more pronounced and vibrant. Musicians are invited to reshape these memories by interacting with the cymbals, morphing and manipulating the emitted sounds using various techniques
